Mexico City International Airport is Mexico’s largest and busiest airport, serving approximately 28 million passengers annually. In 2007, Doppelmayr Cable Car (DCC) installed an Automated People Mover (APM) system to connect a newly developed airport facility with the existing terminal, improving passenger transportation and connectivity.
The cable-driven APM system transports more than 500 passengers per hour and can accommodate up to 7,000 passengers per day, providing a reliable and efficient airport transit solution.
Since 2015, Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc. has supported DCC Mexico with specialized ropeway and automated people mover maintenance services. Our work has included wire rope repairs, haul rope installation and exchange, splice repairs, haul rope shortening, and bull wheel repairs and replacements.
