Palisades Tahoe, formerly known as Squaw Valley, opened in 1949 and is one of North America's most iconic ski resorts. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, the resort gained international recognition after hosting the 1960 Winter Olympic Games, where the first men's Olympic downhill race on metal skis was held.
Today, Palisades Tahoe offers 3,600 acres of skiable terrain supported by 29 lift systems, including 22 chairlifts, three surface lifts, two magic carpets, one aerial tramway, and one funitel, making it one of the largest and most advanced aerial lift networks in North America.
Since 2013, Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc., in partnership with Rigging Specialties, has supported Palisades Tahoe with specialized ropeway services, ski lift maintenance, and technical expertise. Working alongside Doppelmayr USA, projects have included track rope slipping, haul rope exchanges, and inspections of aerial support cables to help ensure the safe and reliable operation of the resort's lift systems.
