Palisades Tahoe (formerly known as Squaw Valley) opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1949. Just eleven years later, it hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, where the first men’s Olympic downhill race on metal skis took place.

Today, the resort spans 3,600 acres of skiable terrain and features 29 lift systems, including 22 chairlifts, 3 surface lifts, 2 magic carpets, 1 aerial tramway, and 1 funitel.

Since 2013, Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc., in partnership with Rigging Specialties, has supported Palisades Tahoe on a range of specialized projects. Working with Doppelmayr USA, services have included track rope slipping, haul rope exchanges, and inspection of aerial support cables.
